We’ve had requests for a lower gullet for closer horse contact and a slightly larger cap. We reworked the original Wade to achieve these changes and introduced the revised saddle in early 1998. Hence the name, 98 Wade. It has a little different look and function.
The Great Basin is a regular Modified Association swell. It’s a little smaller and not as heavy a swell fork as the Pendleton. Still with a wood post laminated integral hardwood horn, its great for all around use and all day riding, and of course it has that same great McCall seat.
Our professional model roping saddle has a deeper, narrower seat than the more traditional roping saddles. This seat allows all day comfort out of the box. It doesn’t restrict your moveability and motion. Our McCall designed roping bar fits your muscled up rope horses well and makes them feel like working for you all day long. You’ll be happy with the results.
The 3B Visalia slickfork hails from the Vaqueros of California, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada and uses a traditional style tree of their choice. This 3B Visalia tree has the same narrow seat as our Wades and is popular with cowboys and trail riders alike. Equipped with a loop seat and outside stirrup leathers, it has an old time look to go along with it.
The Pendleton Lite or Lady Pendleton is designed and built on a Lady Wade® bar. The swells are just right for the person looking for a swell fork feel. We’ve lightened up the tree and horn just enough to really feel the difference. The skirt design adds to the look and feel of the Pendleton Lite. Try this one on for size. You’ll know you’ve found a home. (Saddle pictured with steel horn).
One of our own designs and a current bestseller. This design is for the individual looking for an extremely comfortable lighter weight Wade with a specially designed narrower seat. McCall’s special in-skirt Hamley plate rigging is designed and shaped like a flat plate and pulls like a flat plate without the bulkiness and weight. It’s plenty stout enough to drag calves to the fire or do a full days work without the weight and bulkiness. A real winner no matter how you look at it.
This saddle is designed for the working cowhorse lady. The tree is narrow seated to allow for a long deep seat with relief for your pin bones. The seat keeps you secure for those intricate turns and sharp stops you will experience. The saddle is stout enough to stand up to roping and ranch horse classes as well. A real hybrid.
The original Wade tree has become a mainstay of the slick fork trees. Coming from the Oregon cow country it has been copied many times over. Our McCall version is true to the traditional Wade style. Our McCall style bars fit the horse tremendously well. One of our most popular styles. Its easy to see why.
